Registration
It is mandatory that all golfers register in the Pro Shop before they commence play. Such registration allows the pro shop to know who is on the course in the event of an emergency and to provide the Management an important metric.
If you do not register or book online, then you could be asked to leave the course, if there are bookings in your place.
On the Course
Beaufort Golf Club rules will be observed at all times. Please replace divots, repair pitch marks, rake bunkers and afterwards leave the rake at the edge of the bunker. Please show courtesy for fellow players by avoiding slow play.
Dress
Members and visitors are requested to comply with the Club’s Dress Code. Smart casual dress is essential at all times and only proper golf shoes may be worn on the golf course.
What’s not allowed:
- Tracksuits
- Singlets
- T-Shirts with slogans
- Collarless shirts
- Untailored shorts & football shorts
- Headgear or golf shoes in the bar area or restaurant.
Golf Etiquette
- It is essential that all golfers read the notices on the entrance sign to the first tee in order to familiarize yourself with the rules of the day and course conditions.
- Crossing boundary fences into private land is strictly forbidden.
- Exercise extreme caution when attempting to retrieve balls from water hazards.
- All players should conduct themselves in a disciplined manner, demonstrating courtesy and sportsmanship at all times, irrespective of how competitive they may be.
- Players should always show consideration for other players on the course and should not disturb their play by moving, talking or making noise.
- On the green, players should not stand on or near another player’s line of putt or when the player is putting, be careful not to cast a shadow over their line.
Bunkers
Before leaving a bunker, you should carefully fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints made by you and any nearby prints made by others.
Repair of Divots, Ball-Marks and Damage
You should carefully repair any divots made by you and any damage to the green made by the impact of the ball (plug marks, whether made by you or not).
Play at a Good Pace.
It is a group’s responsibility to keep up with the group in front, if you lose a clear hole and delay the group behind then you should invite the group behind to play through, irrespective of the number of players in the group behind.
Lost Ball
If you think your ball may be lost, to save time, play a provisional ball. Players searching for a ball should signal the group behind to play through as soon as it becomes apparent that the ball will not be easily found. Do not search for 5 minutes before doing so.
Be Ready to Play
You should always be ready to play as soon as it is your turn to play. Prepare your shot-chip-putt while your partner is playing their shot. When on or near the putting green, leave your bag just off the green on the way to the next Tee and leave the green immediately when you have holed out.
